NaNoWriMo 2016 – Prep

I’ve decided to do NaNoWriMo again this year.  I didn’t necessarily enjoy the process, but I found it stimulating to be forced into a deadline.  Procrastination was quickly overtaken by looking at the word count goal graph, rising towards the peak, as my word count dabbled in the ponds around the base of the hill.

Eventually though, I won out.  It was about half way through the month, and I found that my will to complete the task was spurring me on.  Also, I found that the momentum from several really intense and rewarding sessions pushed me up and onwards.

So, on to this year (2016).

What will this years theme be? probably sci-fi

Will I retain a consistent tense? I shall try to

Who will my characters be? silly folk, no doubt

I’m looking forward to it, but in the meantime I might start writing short stories, ca. 5000 words, to see where they end up going, and to try out different styles.  Who knows, I might be a non-fiction writer? probably not
